Scenes from a winter faire...

Our local Waldorf school held their annual Winter faire this past Saturday...
We have been waiting in anticipation for this day and the magic it would surely bring...

It was magical to see all of the advent decorations...

W got to hear a story from King Winter...
how he freezes all the ponds and lakes, with help from Jack Frost...
he also reminded us to always wear a warm undershirt, which made me giggle...
Photobucket
the children were led through a spiral in the courtyard where King Winter awaited...
along the way were beautiful scenes to enjoy...
I think W really loved this part...he stopped at each one; pointing and "oohhhing"...

Afterwards we enjoyed a gingerbread cookie and cider...

...rolled some beeswax candles...

..and spent some much needed time outdoors in the sandbox..

It was a wonderful day....
I appreciate all of the time and effort the families put into making this such a magical day.
We will always remember it!
sorry for the GIGANTIC photos...I don't know what happened!!

  1. We also enjoyed our local Waldorf Winter Faire this weekend. It is fun to see the similarities, and alternatives, at places so far apart in distance, yet not so in spirit. I like that King Winter was there! Such a fun time for the little ones.

  2. Wonderful! Beautiful! Everything is just perfect. This is the way this season should be celebrated. In beauty, with family and nature. I love every one of these pictures and will be filing it away for next year. (And I have to say, I LOVE W’s Hat and leg warmers!) Take care.
