Handmade Holiday....here we go!

Ho, Ho!
Chrsitmas is coming and it is time to wrap up (literally and figuratively) all of our handmade gifts...
In fact, 95% of our gifts this year are handmade!

A skinny scarf for mom..a hat and a guitar accessory pouch for a cousin
The no compromise cowl for my cousin..still not completed..!

Photobucket
gift baskets for aunts and uncles
contents include felted soaps, hand rolled candles, folded stars, dishclothes, and hand dipped beeswax pinecones (great natural firestarters for that cozy winter fireplace!)
Photobucket
ornaments with our symbol of the Worm and other family members...
I recently learned how to use a wood burner and it is SUCH great fun! The possibilities!
My New Year's "resolution" is to delve into woodworking. So excited!!

A handmade barn and animals for W...purchased from a very talented woodworker from MN.

Our solstice fairy...and some Christmas gnomes.

Hand dyed silk scarf; modeled by one of our favorite dolls..
I have discovered the hole saw...it allowed me to make some beautifully simple candle holders!
Whoa, look at the leaning candle! (our mealtime candle which W blew out all on his own for the very first time 2 days ago!!!)

I have been keeping very busy with my fundraising projects (rainbow stackers and playsilks)..
they are completed and the grand totals are as follows:
24 rainbow stackers
75 playsilks!
Thank you everyone for your support and thoughts! The money I raised will pay for my first course this summer in my journey to become an early childhood Waldorf teacher! I am so grateful!!

I am looking ahead and planning another stacker fundraiser for sometime in the spring...I think this little toadstool house will be it!! I am thinking of door and window details on the bottom piece..

...only a few more days until the light returns...and a few more until the magic of Christmas morning. I wish you all the most lovely and warm holiday. xoxo

  2. such great little gifts! we love our playsilks, your totally correct when you say that its a essential for little ones everyday play. both our girls (3 and 1yrs) have played with these everyday. they are transformed into skirts, veils, wings, grass, picnic blankets, and a beach so far! thanks for helping us achieve our handmade Christmas, again this year:)

  6. Wonderful things! My hopes for a handmade holiday are dwindling with the days, but I'm still pleased that I made a few gifts and many others support local businesses or are handmade by someone other than me. I better get started in January with next year's gifts!

  8. So much sweetness in that handmade stuff. Its definitely a lot of work, but well worth it in my opinion. :-) Love all the stackers too. Wish we lived close, I'd definitely put my Noah in your preschool.

  10. I have to agree wood burning is so much fun ,and I love how it fills your house with the earthly smell of camp fire. Oh how I wish we lived closer so we could craft together especially since I'm also getting into woodworking:-) You newest gnome home stacker is so great I could just picture my kids playing with this stacker and their needle felted gnomes.
We really LOVE our rainbow stacker thank you so much...I can't wait till Christmas morning when they open their beautiful silks and stacker!!

  11. Oh Rebecca, I am so very impressed with your rainbow stackers. I'll have to wait til Spring, now! Well, good for you. And all the wonders you've all been creating is inspiring. We are doing the same here, including a dollhouse for our daughter who is also 2. It is very funky and gnome-like, I'll post about it after St. Nicholas stops by with it! Happy merry-making!
