I'm very excited to announce a venture I am taking part in this month..
I am hosting my first ever "party".....a Lila Rose party, that is! I'm also very happy to give my personal review of their most popular product, the flexi clip, and offer a very generous giveaway for blog readers and party goers!
Lila Rose is a company which started out as a husband creating hairsticks for his wife. What a nice guy! Their family was in financial turmoil when they decided to go out on a limb and introduce a totally brand new, innovative kind of hair clip/barrette, the flexi clip. Turns out, of course, everyone loved it...and I do, too.
I first tried the flexi clip after reading many favorable reviews online. I had never seen seen anything like it before. Turns out, it is one of my most favorite hair accessories and "reached for" hair toys. (love that term!) At first glance, I had no idea how to use the clip. Turns out, though, it is simple, user friendly and offers a really nice and secure hold for all hair types and lengths. They’re actually more comfortable than a pony tail holder. They really do “flex” around you’re hair and don’t pull or pinch at all. And best of all, you can create SO many different hairstyles with this one simple clip. You don't have to be "good" at hair styling to use it.
The flexi clip is offered in a variety of styles (clips featuring tasteful celtic knots, fairies, dragonflies, peace signs, and roses, just to name a few of my favorites.) and tones of silver, gold, antiqued brass, or copper. I tend to favor the gold as I feel it works better with my haircolor. They are also very sweet for a little girl and make a great gift.
Lila Rose also offers hair sticks, bobby pins, ID badge holders, and several other beautiful hair accessories, as well. I had way too much fun hanging out on the website for an entire night last week.
Alright. Before I start to sound like some cheesy commercial.....I am not a sales person. I'm not good at it and I'm not really interested. I wanted to host some kind of party this year, but wasn't sure how to go about doing it. I'm not interested in new skin products (I have my tried and true tinctures!), tupperware, Avon, etc. etc. But what I really love is hair stuff.
Hosting a party and keeping all of the goodies for myself is just a little bit selfish, so I had the idea of turning the event into some kind of helping-those-in-need intention. While no money will be earned by me from the party, I will most likely accquire some free products. A girl can only have so many barrettes and/or hair sticks so I started to think about who might appreciate them more than me at this time.
Our church operates a soup kitchen 5 days per week; serving over 150 hot meals to the public each day. We giveaway food products, personal care items, and baby/child necessities for families who need them. While a hair clip is not a necessity, I thought it might be nice for a few of the ladies who frequent the kitchen. Our rector remarked that she could "think of 5 women who would love something pretty and lady like without even pondering too much about it.." Perfect.
So- the details.

ReplyDeleteI don't really have any good hair tricks but I have to admit that I have fallen in love with Wen. I haven't shampoo'd my hair since summer & I've only used this. My hair is soft & my scalp hasn't felt this good in years!
ReplyDelete(informercial over) :-)
I have discovered that my hair is happier and healthier if I don't wash it every day! Don't tell my Mom! I also had to learn to love my own natural hair type and work with it, rather than wishing it would "behave" in some other manner! Thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI am also a follower of this blog!
ReplyDeleteI have "liked" Heather's Facebook page. I am really excited about these lovely hair clips! Thank you for introducing us! ^_^

My hair "secret" isn't a secret at all, but I don't have "good hair" - one or two days a week I get lovely ringlet curls and am happy when I look in the mirror - the rest of the time I have a bushy, frizzy mess. And nothing seems to help. So my only secret is acceptance of the hair you have and what it wants to do! So many of the women in my family dye and straighten and curl and load their hair with products because the straight haired girl wants to be curly, or the curly girl wants to have straight hair, the brunette wants to be blonde, or the older woman wants to have hair like she had at 16. So all I do is cultivate a zen like detachment! I would love one of those clips because when my hair is being pre-raphelite rather than bratty I think it would look really nice!
ReplyDeletedon't wash! at least not too often, maybe twice a month with a few rinses too.
ReplyDeletefollowing!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I don't have hair secrets but I do think a good conditioner is important and I also like brushing my hair before bed, maybe not 100 times like they used to say, but close to it. Seems to help my hair stay healthier.

ReplyDeleteI've liked Heather's fb page.
ReplyDeleteas a mom i have to admit, teaching my girls to take care of their own hair is my best secret. it may not be perfect, but they are proud and i have 3 less hair-dos to take care of!
ReplyDeleteMy hair secret? Wash it with good shampoo, blow-dry with the kids underfoot asking for snack. Let the toddler "brush" it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like something that might be good for my Lily. She's 3 and hates getting her hair brushed. It's almost like brushing out dreadlocks on a daily basis :)
ReplyDeleteI fell in LOVE and purchased 3 beautiful items! I guess that puts my name in an extra 30 times! LOL My hair is so excited to be stylish!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hair secret: coconut oil makes a great moisturizer.
