On day I dropped her and left her on the train. I was of course heartbroken. We didn't have an address on her and way before mobile phones. so my mum rang the station and talk to a lovely man and about how upset I was. he said he had a daughter that loved her doll and knew she would be devastated if she lost her. He rang along the train line speaking to station masters and then one at Wahroonga. He jumped on the train and stopped it until he could look all thru the train and there she was on the third carriage at the top looking out the window, where I had left her. we drove immediately to the train station, my father joining us there with a bottle of wine to give to this wonderful man. I wrapped my arms around him and gave him the biggest hug I could.crying with happiness. I never let go of her after that and always checked I had her with me wherever we travelled. It was just before Christmas and we went home and baked some cooked which we took up to our station master for his part too.Glenaeon Class 3,2010https://www.blogger.com/profile/07893533617597420021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-30205751332488276702011-11-25T22:44:52.316-05:002011-11-25T22:44:52.316-05:00Love your blog--have been a daily follower since F...Love your blog--have been a daily follower since February 2011! Thank you for this most generous give-away!! These dolls are absolutely beautiful and I truly appreciate that they are handmade with such care, fine materials and talent.

My favorite doll memory involves "Annie Baby." I had many dolls as a young child & loved them dearly for many, many years. One doll in particular was "Real Baby" (circa 1979). I loved her as she was small like a newborn, soft body, a delicate face and beautiful brown hair.

I kept her for many years and my mother gave her to my younger cousin when she was 2 years old (I was then in college).

Eight years later, at my baby shower for my eldest son, I received a wrapped shoebox from my younger cousin. Inside I found my doll (my cousin named her "Annie Baby"). My cousin was about 10 and felt that I should give her to my baby-to-be! What a thoughtful and sweet child!

The tears started flowing as I remembered all the time I had spent playing with her, than thought of my cousin having her for 8 years and now she could be cared for by my child.

So she is still here today & my now 2 year old daughter loves playing with her.Rachelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-18665573811985677402011-11-25T20:20:00.486-05:002011-11-25T20:20:00.486-05:00I shared your giveaway on Facebook!I shared your giveaway on Facebook!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-15651190291133848012011-11-25T20:19:23.248-05:002011-11-25T20:19:23.248-05:00I'm a follower!I'm a follower!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-18604283039092034142011-11-25T20:18:52.113-05:002011-11-25T20:18:52.113-05:00I never really had a favorite dolly when I was gro...I never really had a favorite dolly when I was growing up. In 4th grade, our school librarian hosted an American Girl doll tea party for mothers, daughters, and their dolls. My mom took off work to take me to the tea party, and I had fun eating snacks in the library with my friends and our dolls.Kacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03280291191286962710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-86276096503984253252011-11-25T12:23:34.574-05:002011-11-25T12:23:34.574-05:00I actually came across that doll looking for Waldo...I actually came across that doll looking for Waldorf dolls on Etsy. It is my plan this year to get both of my girls some dolls. I had Cabbage Patch dolls when I was young and kept them but my older daughter has zero interest in them - which is fine, when I was young I loved my ET (yes, the Extra Terrestrial) to pieces. I dressed him up as a baby and took him everywhere with me - even travelling when I was in my 20s. It always amazes me what children will fall in love with. :) And yes, I am a follower of this beautiful blog.melaniehttp://www.meli-mello.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-43759710367196074382011-11-25T10:43:54.699-05:002011-11-25T10:43:54.699-05:00Wow, that is such a beautiful doll! I'm glad I found your site.

growing up I had a playhouse in our backyard that I used a lot. I had few dolls and the one I remember the most is this porcelain face doll that was my mother's. Someone broke in to my doll house at some point (I wasn't very big) and I remember seeing my doll chattered into pieces. Not a memory I want to have, but I remember treasuring this doll just because of what it was for my mom as well.

We've been trying to get one of these dolls for our kids as a present, but as you say, they are very expensive and I can't believe at the chance to win this one.

Thank you so very much for the amazing giveaway.
Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-62082467848873555162011-11-24T12:37:09.115-05:002011-11-24T12:37:09.115-05:00Love to see every post - xoxo G & L's MomLove to see every post - xoxo G & L's MomAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-21109864978486113442011-11-24T11:34:54.070-05:002011-11-24T11:34:54.070-05:00My favorite doll memory is receiving hand knit and...My favorite doll memory is receiving hand knit and hand sewn doll clothes every christmas from my dear great grandmother, a tradition I continue on with my own daughter~Emilynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-69335169561245149472011-11-24T09:39:39.550-05:002011-11-24T09:39:39.550-05:00Feel a bit cheeky joining your blog because of a g...Feel a bit cheeky joining your blog because of a giveaway, but if I had come across it sooner I would have joined then, such a lovely blog.Clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14000394690435986135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5600619126692959890.post-6648396046621322882011-11-24T09:38:12.473-05:002011-11-24T09:38:12.473-05:00My favourite dolly memory is after giving my eldes...My favourite dolly memory is after giving my eldest son my tiny tears doll that had been my first birthday present, following the birth of my second son, I later found him breastfeeding it.
